The meeting which was organized on the initiative of Qatar, was also attended by Treasury Minister Aleksander Grad. The Qatar premier promised his government’s assistance in the matter of payment for the shipyards in Gdynia and Szczecin, even though the government of Qatar was not an investor.

The two shipyards were purchased by QInvest which asked to postpone payment after a letter from the Association for Shipyard Protection which claimed that they had been used to launder money. Poland’s Treasury Minister Aleksander Grad requested an official inquiry into the letter which he called an act of sabotage.
