Cracow will be Polish Assisi in september

Cardinal Stanisłww Dziwisz has invited Dalai Lama, Orthodox Patriarch, the Mufti of Jerusalem, rabbi from Israel and many others, sum total 500 guests.

Metropolitan bishop wants everyone to pray in the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Łagiewniki and Auschwitz Concentration Camp for peace between nations. The meeting will refer to Day of Prayer in the World, organized by John Paul II in 1986 in Assisi.

“We could have seen various reactions 20 years ago. Many people said that they were very happy about this kind of reconciliation. But many other said that it would be hard to reconcile so many different points of view” – said Bishop Tadeusz Pieronek, who took part in the celebration 22 years ago.

 

This year meeting will start on the 5th of September to celebrate 70th anniversary of the beginning of World War II and last 4 days.
