Buzek elected European Parliament president
Former prime minister of Poland, Jerzy Buzek, has been voted by MEPs as the new head of the European Parliament.
Chinese get more Polish language courses
The new Polish studies department at Harbin has received assistance from Gdansk University. Its lecturers will work with the first group of 20 students this coming academic year. The young Chinese will then move for the next four semesters to Gdansk to continue their studies in Poland.

LOT airlines value skydives

Finnish ferry operator Finnlines announced an opening of new connections with Poland. Car and passengers ferries are going to start sailing on 2nd June. New connections will be from Gdynia to Hesinki and form German port of Lubeck to Travemunde.
Polish female climber on Kanchenjunga
Kinga Baranowska climbed on third highest peak in the world (after Mount Everest and K2), called Kanchenjunga (8565 over sea level). She is fourth woman who climbed on this difficult mountain.

Eastern Partnership inaugurated in Prague
The Eastern Partnership was inaugurated during the summit in Prague on Thursday. The main goal of the partnership, which is the brainchild of Poland and Sweden, is to ‘accelerate political association and economic integration ‘between the EU and Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
Indian president in Warsaw
Lech Kaczyńsk met Indian president Pratibha Devisingh Patil and expressed his happiness about Indian and Polish cooperation. Kaczyński is happy that India wants to cooperate closely with the European Union.
